Thursday 22 March, 2018- Professor Ahmed Saeed Salman, Vice Chancellor of the University of the Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences, arrived in the Maldives, where he was received at the airport of the Maldives capital, Male, by Sheikh Ibrahim Moosa Rasheed, Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs and Director of the Holy Quran Center and a number of officials at the Ministry.


 The visit comes to strengthen scientific cooperation between the university and the ministry and to open a center for the HQIS for teaching Arabic Language in Maldives.

It is worth mentioning that in January 2018, the University received the Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs, director of the Holy Quran Center, and signed memorandum of understanding in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Saeed Salman, Vice Chancellor and Prof. Muawya Ahmed Sayyid Ahmed, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the U of HQIS.

It is also worth mentioning that the Republic of Maldives is a group of islands located in the Indian Ocean with a population of 309 thousand people, where all inhabitants are Muslims according to the constitution which states that the Republic is based on the principles of Islam and that all citizens must be Muslims.
