His Excellency Irfan Nazir Oglu, the Turkish Ambassador to Khartoum, stressed that Turkey adopts an active foreign policy throughout the world and in Sudan in particular, noting that the Turkish government, private institutions and non-governmental organizations provide humanitarian assistance to the needy regardless of their religion or ethnic origin.

It is worth mentioning that this came in his speech at the seminar on “The Foreign Policy of Turkey in Humanitarian Field” held at the University of the Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences in the presence of Dr. Abbas Al Aa’lim, Principal of the University, Prof. Sir Al- Khatim Othman Al-Ameen, Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research , Dr. Waqei Allah, Dean of the School of Languages, Mr. Fakhri, Director of Yunus Emre Institute in Sudan, and students of the department of Turkish Language at the University.

 Mr. Oglu, the Turkish Ambassador to Khartoum said that according to the 2017 Global Humanitarian Aid Report, Turkey is considered to be the world's largest donor with humanitarian assistance of $ 8 billion where he stated that many Turkish NGOs are actively involved in global humanitarian projects.

 Mr. Oglu also noted the distinguished relationship with Sudan, where both Turkish governmental and non-governmental organizations take active part in providing humanitarian aid in a large area in Sudan ranging from El Fasher to Kassala and from Port Sudan to Nyala where he pointed to the assistance provided in the fields of heath care, education and agriculture which feature free medical treatment to Sudanese patients , free education from kindergarten stage to the age of 12 years, donating daily meals, medical examinations, and aid on Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

 His Excellency Irfan Nazir Oglu finally, appreciated the performance of the students of Turkish language stressing increase of Turkish scholarships for students of the university.

 On his part, Dr. Abbas Al Aa’lim, Principal of the University, stressed the strong bilateral relations between Sudan and Turkey, and between the University of the Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences and Turkish institutions and organizations calling on students of the department of Turkish language to seek distinction and to be ambassadors who will convey the objectives and mission of the University.
