from the established analogy (qiyās) in the orthographic representation and easing of the hamzah. It aims to clarify the foundational principles governing analogy in this field, to identify the positions that depart from it in the script of the muṣḥaf, and to explain the manner of stopping on them according to the conventions of the Qurʾānic orthography (rasm).

THE STUDY ADOPTS AN INDUCTIVE METHOD IN TRACING THE OCCURRENCES OF HAMZAH POSITIONS, AND AN ANALYTICAL METHOD IN EXAMINING THE MODES OF STOPPING AND THEIR UNDERLYING RATIONALES. THE RESEARCH CONCLUDES WITH SEVERAL FINDINGS, MOST NOTABLY THAT THE CHAPTER OF STOPPING ON THE HAMZAH ACCORDING TO ḤAMZAH CONSTITUTES ONE OF THE MOST SIGNIFICANT FOUNDATIONAL TOPICS DUE TO THE MULTIPLICITY OF ITS POSSIBLE MODES.
